Southern Nights

Words/Music by Jason Reischel

We went down to Nashville, Tennessee
I unpacked all I owned, you were waiting there for me
We hitched a ride cause it was dark that night
I didn’t want to risk the pavement burning on all sides

Hot southern days, hot southern nights
We could take a trip to Utah
But I’d miss those southern lights

Well, I grew up there in Asheville, old NC
Where it’s not always cold, no ocean blow
Enough mountains there for me
We can stop the cab at this next light
Won’t you take my hand, and I’ll be your man
And we will set out for the night

Hot southern days, hot southern nights
We could take a trip to Utah
But I’d miss those southern lights

Oh Tennessee, Oh Tennessee
There’s something in the air here
What you got in store for me

We went down to Nashville, Tennessee
I unpacked all I owned: my guitar and some cds
I thought that I would take a walk tonight
And take each moment by the hand
And enjoy these southern nights

Hot southern days, hot southern nights
We could take a trip to Utah
But I’d miss those southern lights
