Vanity On Decline

Words/music by Jason Reischel

Maybe tomorrow you will hear me inside your head
But I will be so far away
You pushed me to this place

For far too long, you have abused me
Took me for granted, neglected, and used me for your self-help

That you will never find
Your vanity is on decline
And I will be better off by myself

Though in my tears, I attempt to forgive you
It’s your last chance to prove that you really have a clue

That you deserve a shot of redemption of the heart
That I have shed my last tear over you

A fool, I am not so don’t waste my time
I forgave you once I don’t know if I can for a second time

That you will never find
Your vanity is on decline
And I will be better off by myself

Even now, I don’t believe you
If who you are in your head is who you are in your heart,
Then, we are through

You hold yourself too high in esteem, and it’s a lie
You’ll wake one day alone, and very old
I can’t wait for you
Is there even room for two in your head?
You’re a legend, but you’re all alone
